Mélanie Lagüe — Chief steward/ess (French )
Mélanie brings a polished and genuinely welcoming approach to hospitality on board Bang!, shaped by her youth spent on the French Riviera and a strong family heritage in the hotel and restaurant industry. Raised in Sainte‑Maxime, she was immersed from a young age in high service standards, attention to detail, and the importance of making guests feel truly cared for. After completing her studies in Tourism, Mélanie naturally transitioned into the yachting world, drawn by the opportunity to combine her passion for travel with hands‑on guest service. Now entering her fifth season in yachting, she has built her experience, allowing her to adapt seamlessly to different styles, guest expectations, and crew dynamics. The 2026 season marks Mélanie’s first role as Chief Stewardess—a progression that reflects her professionalism, dedication, and growing leadership within the interior team. She is known for creating a calm, well‑organised environment, ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience runs smoothly. Attentive without being intrusive, Mélanie prides herself on delivering discreet yet personalised service, anticipating guests’ needs before they arise. Her background in hospitality, combined with real‑world charter experience, allows her to strike the perfect balance between relaxed elegance and five‑star service, ensuring a refined and memorable experience for every guest onboard.
Kevin Basler — Captain (French)
Kevin was born and raised in the South of France, where he developed a strong connection to the hospitality industry from an early age. His parents owned a hotel and restaurant, followed later by a private beach in Antibes, and Kevin began working in the family business at just 14 years old. This early exposure instilled in him a deep appreciation for service excellence and guest satisfaction. Alongside hospitality, Kevin’s passion for the sea began in childhood, spending his summer holidays learning to sail. Drawn by a lifelong dream of travelling and exploring the world by sea, he naturally combined his love for the ocean with his service background and entered the yachting industry at the age of 20. Over the years, Kevin has built an extensive and well‑rounded yachting career. His experience includes multiple Mediterranean and Caribbean seasons, cruising extensively throughout Asia, and completing four Atlantic crossings, navigating the Panama Canal, and delivering yachts from Holland to the South of France. He has held key positions onboard notable charter yachts, gaining valuable experience. Now serving as Captain of Bang! since 2024, Kevin brings a calm, hands‑on leadership style and places strong emphasis on seamless operations and refined guest experiences. He takes great pride in building genuine relationships with guests and ensuring every charter is impeccably organised and tailored to their expectations. Cheerful, honest, and deeply committed to life at sea, Kevin is passionate about sharing his love for the ocean and creating memorable experiences.
Jerome Sabouraud — Chef (French)
Jérôme was born and raised on the French Riviera, where his passion for cooking was nurtured from an early age by his grandmother, an exceptional home cook who inspired his love for cooking. At just 15 years old, he enrolled in culinary school in Cannes. Driven by curiosity, Jérôme moved to Jakarta early in his career, where he spent two years at the prestigious Park Lane Hotel. As the youngest chef on the team, he gained invaluable experience and developed a deep appreciation for Asian flavours and techniques, which continue to influence his cooking style today. Upon returning to France, he went on to work as a private chef for a renowned French basketball player, delivering discreet, high‑level cuisine in a private setting. With his uncle being a yacht captain, Jérôme naturally found his way into the yachting industry, where he could combine his culinary passion with travel and life at sea. Over the years, he has built an extensive background working on private and charter yachts, as well as in Michelin‑starred restaurants and luxury chalets. This diverse experience has allowed him to adapt easily to different environments, guest expectations, and service styles. After a break, Jérôme just returned on board Bang! where he initially started as Chef in 2021. Warm, approachable, and passionate about his craft, Jérôme delights in sharing his love of food and creating memorable dining moments that guests will remember long after their time onboard.
Jocelyn Chaudanson — Mate (French)
Jocelyn (Joce), our first mate, was born in the South of France, the hotspot of yachting worldwide. After graduating with a Business bachelor’s degree, he completed his watersports instructor license and spent 6 years working as a jetski instructor at the Monte-Carlo Bay resort. During this time, he also earned his Captain 200 license, enabling him to start his yachting career, serving on yachts ranging from 20 to 50m in deck positions. With 4 years of sea experience, Jocelyn joined Bang! and is now on board for his third season. He enjoys travelling around the Mediterranean and is a keen fisherman, having been trained from a young age by his grandfather. His passion for the sea knows no bounds, and he now enjoys wakeboarding and learning to use the latest water toys available. Well-integrated with the crew, he is patient, kind, and versatile, dedicated to offering guests a memorable experience.
Erwan Arino — Chief engineer (French)
Born in Normandy, Erwan graduated from high school with a Scientific baccalaureate before deciding to join the Maritime High School in Cherbourg, France, to complete his initial yachting qualifications, including an Engineering and Captain’s certificate. For over 10 years, Erwan has worked on various motor yachts of different sizes, primarily in the Mediterranean but also in the Caribbean, as an Engineer. He has been fortunate to experience transatlantic and trans-Indian crossings. When he is not in the engine room, Erwan enjoys the sea around him, engaging in activities such as sailing, wakeboarding, kitesurfing, and diving. He is also passionate about motorcycles and skiing.
