Chiara Bortolaso — Chef (Italian)
Chiara Francesca Bortolaso joins M/Y ASMARA as Chef, bringing extensive experience in onboard cooking combined with a strong hospitality background. Born in Italy in 1980 and based in Northern Italy, she has built a solid career both at sea and ashore, specialising in guest-focused cuisine within charter environments.
Her yachting experience includes several seasons as Chef / Hostess on M/Y SERENITY II (Sanlorenzo, Balearics) and M/Y VIRGINIA G. (Firemiles Navetta, Southern Italy), where she was fully responsible for galley operations, menu planning, provisioning, and meal execution for charter guests. Her cooking style is rooted in Mediterranean cuisine, with particular strength in healthy, vegan, vegetarian, and customised menus, always adapted to guests’ preferences, dietary requirements, and seasonal availability.
Chiara is accustomed to managing the galley independently, working efficiently under pressure, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation. Her background also includes experience as Personal Chef and onboard Cook on sailing yachts, as well as several years in small-scale luxury hospitality and countryside lodges.
She holds STCW Basic Training, ENG1, HACCP and S.A.B. certification. Italian is her mother tongue; she speaks Spanish at a good working level and basic English. In addition, her qualifications as a yoga instructor and holistic practitioner contribute to a cuisine philosophy focused on balance, wellbeing, and guest comfort.
Calm, reliable, and service-oriented, Chiara brings a reassuring and professional presence to the galley, supporting a relaxed and refined onboard experience aboard ASMARA.
Marta Di Domenico — Stewardess (Italian)
Marta Di Domenico joins M/Y ASMARA as Stewardess, bringing a well-rounded background in yachting and high-end hospitality, supported by a professional, organised, and guest-focused approach. Born in Italy in 1988 and currently based in La Spezia, she combines strong service standards with proven adaptability across both private and charter yachts.
Her onboard experience includes charter roles aboard M/Y SERENITY II (Balearics) and M/Y VIRGINIA G. (Firemiles Navetta, Southern Italy), as well as private service on M/Y STONEHILL. On SERENITY II, she worked closely with Chef Chiara Francesca Bortolaso, developing a smooth and efficient galley–interior coordination throughout the charter programme. Her responsibilities covered guest service, table presentation, cabin care, and maintaining consistent interior standards during high-turnover operations.
Marta has also supported yacht presentations and guest events aboard M/Y MAI DIRE MAI during nautical exhibitions, gaining additional experience in formal service settings and event-style onboard organisation.
Prior to yachting, she built a solid hospitality foundation ashore, progressing from Commis de Salle to Maître in respected restaurants and small-scale luxury hospitality and countryside lodges. This background has strengthened her service etiquette, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate guest needs.
She holds STCW Basic Training, ENG1 medical certificate, HACCP certification, and a seaman’s book. Italian is her mother tongue; she speaks English fluently and Spanish at a conversational level. Reliable, discreet, and service-driven, Marta brings to ASMARA a reassuring interior presence and a well-coordinated guest experience.
